Email them to yourself - you'll be offered resizing options on Sending. Or do you have Microsoft Picture Manager or Photo Editor on your machine? Usually part of the package.
It has uploaded the whole lot! And I can't see how to delete individual ones....will get to grips soon. Once I have discovered how to resize, do I then have to re-import them back onto my computer... in order to attach them to forum questions? (apologies if this is a stupid question; I have pretty basic IT skills)
Assuming you are using Picasa... You can pick which folders to view by going to Tools - Folder Manager and select the folders you wish to scan and not to scan there. To resize, select a photo and it appears at the bottom left. Then click the export button at the bottom and a window opens with some options. Click "Resize To" and drag the slider to the size required (480 or 640 pixels should be enough), then click OK. When it is done, a window will open with the folder containing the re-sized photo.
If you want to do a few at a time, when you have selected one photo, hold the Ctrl key and click a few more photos then click the export button as above.
I use Irfanview (free download) It has a resize option where you can pick from a list or specify exactly. Also allows you to save in so many different formats and you can change the compression in the .jpg format, think from memory they call it quality, high being no compression and low being maximum. Used it for all my Photoshop teaching notes/example, told the students that too.
