It's a notifiable system - as long as you can't contaminate drinking water, what other regulation (as opposed to good practice) would you want

Labelling is a requirement of the WRAS guidance

I would have thought any competent pumber would be able to work out what he's cutting into for the alteration - all the guidance recommends pipe labelling however. In simple terms, wouldn't he need to find an isolate the pipework before cutting the T anyway

It's not common on little domestic set ups but pipework identification is pretty much the norm outside of that.

So down feeds from potable water tanks should be basic green with white/blue/white colour ID
