The Passivhaus concept - comfortable, affordable, sustainable - is regarded as an essential basis for every future orientated building.

Low energy, low carbon buildings are difficult to achieve economically without the 'fabric first' approach of Passivhaus. It enables homes to be built now to achieve the Zero Carbon requirement to be implemented in 2016 - and without the complication of off-site 'allowable' solutions to meet the target.

This seminar will help to de-mystify the Passivhaus concept, its particular design standards and how they are satisfied. It will help you to understand the definition of 'Zero Carbon Homes' and how the Passivhaus 'fabric first' solution can already deliver homes to meet the anticipated standard. The integrated design solution results in a comfortable, healthy environment as well as significantly lowering running costs for both homes and non-domestic buildings.

Presented by Roger Burton, a certified Passivhaus designer and founder of nvirohaus, a carbon conscious design practice, drawing on an understanding and experience of environmental performance, to offer healthy comfortable buildings with lower carbon and cost performance over their lifetime.
