    Hi All,
Afriend of mine that is not very energy concious is fitting a hot tub in the near future. I have looked at the blurb and it looks like it will cost him around £1.50 an hours to run when he is in it, less when he is out but obviously it needs heating. As I am little more energy concious I told him to look at PV to help with electricity production and it would help his carbon footprint. Although he does rear his own animals for meat, he has chickens etc so he is not all bad. Anyway, his roof orientation looks pretty good but how much of an area does a 4kW system take up? What would be a fair market price for a system installed under MCS? Any advice on manufacturers and those to avoid?
I am also interested as I aim to build again soon and PV is high on my list.
    Many thanks,

Sharp panels (but I am biased ) 1.64m2 @ 245Wp so just under 4kW would need 16 number, 26.24m2.

    Good luck....
I understand that Grant now give a 25 year guarantee? Has anyone claimed on PV panel guarantees? Looking at the area he may need to go for ground mounted. How hard is planning for ground mounted?
