I am planning to fit two rows of five 250W PV panels, sometime in the future, and need to know what diameter conduit to fit for all the cabling from the roof. Any ideas?

how long will the cables be? 40mm will do it possibly 25mm

Depends on configuration. Normal would be one string of 10 panels in series, in which case you'ld be using 2 x 4mm wires to the inverter, if it's reasonably close. That should go through standard 20mm conduit.

I followed this plan and put in a 50mm diameter conduit, which should hopefully make it a doddle to pull through cables in the future.

    2 x 20 or 1 x 25mm will take 4 x 4mm cables easy ( 2 strings +/- )

Thanks for all the answers. It's only 4m from the roof to where the inverter will be and more or less straight. So if I wire them in series I'll need two 4mm2 cables. I've got some 25mm conduit so I'll use that. Thanks again.
