How would they ever know you had such a slab? The last property I had valued for a mortgage the valued didn't even go in the property.

If they don't want to lend to you they will find a problem and use it. Recent ones I've come across include, stream at the bottom of the garden, timber frame (non-standard construction), Japanese Knotweed within 100m of property, loan to value too high!!

Posted By: TriassicThat looks easy, can you buy it anywhere?

Pretty much all the systems are easy, once you have a design signed off by an engineer. It's all giant lego. I looked at Isoquick but eliminated them precisely because they don't use a ringbeam, which I needed for my wall type. I asked Supergrund to quote but they didn't. etc etc. Incidentally, note that you don't need EPS300 under the bulk of the slab; you'll get better U-values by using something else. It's only where there are wall loads that you need something strong.

Supergrund, Viking House and AFT (link 2 above) all use ring beams according to their brochures.

Edit - Someone in another similar thread suggested Supergrund supplied by Partel http://www.partel.co.uk/products2.php?c=27. I contacted Partel but they don't offer the system in the UK at present, they suggest I contact Joe at MBC Timber Frame.
