What are users views on the latest insulated plasterboard. This would be used as dry lining on a barn conversation which already has celotex between the timber framing. Or is there a greener alternative? I have considered thermafleece

cripes -- you must be rich! How about cross battening and insulating the void (which could/should be used for services) then plasterboard?

    Hello lesley

Insulated plasterboard would do well, but as Tony says you may want to think about service routing. Thermafleece is 'let's charge 'em loads 'cos they're greenies' expensive but ecologically ace nevertheless. It is however only as good as old fashioned rockwool/fibre stuff in terms of it insulating properties & so there is a good argument for getting cheaper stuff (rockwool/cellotex/kingspan etc) which is a better insulant and putting it on thicker giving you lower U values (more insulation) than you would get with the herdwick coats.
