GBEnergy have dropped their tariff. Headline for low usage folk is that the gas Standing Charge is now 7ppd (in Southern Scotland). One annoyance of mine is they (and many other companies) do not make clear whether this is inc or + VAT (I think it is inc). Last time I looked the big boys and many of the smaller ones has a SC of around 20p. You can exit any time on 30 days notice. CS is a little ropey but I think that is because of rapid growth.

Interesting to find that they answer both "What is renewable energy?" and "What does 'carbon neutral' mean?" in their FAQ but I can't find any statement of what their energy mix is?

I just had a look at the cost of them supplying to me.
My existing prices are in brackets

    Day Rate 12.99 (19.21)
    Night Rate 6.74 (7.24)
    Rental 29.5/d (18.9)
So if I changed to them, it would be:
    Day Rate 150.684 (222.836)
    Night Rate 155.492 (167.027)
    Rental 107.675 (70.117)

    Difference 413.851 (576.863)
    But I actually paid 458.66

So a it cheaper than I pay with EDF, but not worth changing for £45

I assume that now that most renewable energy schemes have been scrapped electricity prices will fall?

Understanding the intentional irony here: to the limited extent that energy prices are higher due to renewable schemes that's the result of existing contracts which (presumably) won't be cancelled so, no, we wouldn't expect a fall as such. Maybe less increase for RE reasons but that's likely to be lost in the noise of other fluctuations, anyway.

Have you tried a comparison with isupplyenergy ST?

I pay 11p tariff and 18p standing charge per day plus VAT.

I think I get a discount or there may have been a price increase in the last year, or I may have punched the numbers into the calculator wrong (my eyesight has gone very wonkey again )

Are EBICO still the only people doing a no-standing-charge tariff? The standing charge makes every other deal I've ever looked at completely uncompetitive. Sadly EBICO don't do any low-carbon tariffs (but then actually last time I looked, neither did anyone else, except one fraudulent one that included gas as 'low carbon', and lots that excluded nuclear).

£120 - I'd love that discount. One of the problems with comparison sites is the way they calculate the savings when any fixed deal ends which makes the figures all wonky.
