Posted By: djhBot, do you have any other independent articles confirming what that one says? I can't find any record of Boris Johnson making such a statement, nor do I imagine the British government will be doing much of anything in the next few days and in particular I doubt it will be signing anything on 8 June - the day of our election.

I found lots of links to Johnsons making these statements over a European army HQ in Brussels, here are just a few. Over the next couple of years the EU army will be introduced.

Boris Johnson has denied claims Britain is seeking to block closer EU military co-operation despite reports of a row.
The Foreign Secretary insisted the UK is "not going to stand in their way" as EU member states prepared to discuss moves to enhance the bloc's collaboration on defence.

We won't stand in their way' Boris says Britain won't block EU plan for own military HQ
BORIS Johnson this morning indicated that Britain will not seek to block Brussels’ plans to establish its own military headquarters despite the Government’s previous resistance to the idea of an EU army.

Britain will NOT stand in the way of a military headquarters for the EU, says Boris Johnson as he urges the bloc to spend more on defence

Boris Johnson plays differences with EU over military ambitions
"If they want to come together... with other arrangements, then we don`t want to stand in their way. We just (need to) work on the language to make sure that we get it totally right," he said.

Everyone is more occupied with the vastly more important issue of how Trump misspells a word on Twitter.

Listened to Shipping Forecast (05:20)
Did load of washing, as it was not going to rain, see above (or should it be sea above) (06:10)
Went into town to count empty shops (don't ask, it's an Economics things) (09:00)
Went for coffee and illegal downloading (10:00)
Went for walk in the woods and did 3/4 of my 10,000 steps, then coffee 12:40)

That's 2 coffees before lunch - and I bet a few while cooking. Speedy Gonzales! I know I've had too much too regularly i.e. one every breakfast, when I get withdrawal symptoms.

So "EU:- in or out?" has an acute meaning, viewed from the verandah?
Posted By: fostertomSo "EU:- in or out?" has an acute meaning, viewed from the verandah?

Too right, especially with the inability of most of the EU (UK included) being incapable of controlling immigration/migration and I don't see brexit solving this (e.g.non EU migration today) And of course the terrorist issues are getting worse and the UK is happy to leave all the EU crime prevention infrastructure and walk away to do their own thing (Mrs Mays insistance that she is prepared to walk away without a deal)

Well I guess if the DUP deal goes through, the mythical ÂŁ350m 'saving' will be spent in Northern Ireland, rather than the NHS.

Not a bad idea, pending a Lab govt soon enough.
