Posted By: ferdinand2000Heh, but they tend to be the ones with the free building plots :-D.

Mine did not have a free building plot, it was also the first of 3 on the road being sold on that day, the other two including a larger one went for less! (I did not know that there was only one other bidder with a real interest in them, and could only afford to buy one.) However when it is done, it will be a nice 6 bed HMO.

 Thanks for the feedback.

Looking at the numbers I'll be going for roof superinsulation plus a PIV, which will be about £300 plus fitting - the same as two Vent-Axia Lo Carbon Tempra room fans for example. I have gone for the version which can be adjusted without going into the loft, but without a handheld control.

Separately I'll be doing internal wall boarding out for several walls, which are the ones that would not be covered by an EWI project but will have some impact. Easy to do now before Ts decorate.

That will deal with any condensation and help bills, and the boarding out is the thing that has to be done now.

Then I will probably wait for a round of funding to pursue EWI, unless a quote comes out notably competitive.

Incidentally, my Head of Building Standards said that they didn't hard pedal enforcement on upgrading elements, presumably because they would prefer that people do *something*.

Separately there is some work to do on a couple of areas of blown render.

I'll open up a separate thread to address the landlord and energy saving debate, as it is very important for the longer term.

Ferdinand
