I've been looking on ebay and gumtree, but I though I'd post here. I'm looking for a direct cylinder that is less than 450 wide and around 120 - 200 litres. There are lot for sale advertised at 450, but they exclude insulation, so I guess I'm really looking for a 400 mm wide tank. These seem less common. Might anyone have one?
  2.
Does this mean you'd have a cylinder with only 25mm insulation? That wouldn't pass Bldg Regs, and would nowhere near meet Best Practice standards.
  3.
It's for an expansion tank. I plan to put more insulation around it, but anything larger won't fit.

Have you tried looking direct at a manufacturer's site, e.g. Newark Copper Cylinders?

Whisper if you want, for another make-to-order manufacturer in Scotland.

Thanks Nick. I was hoping I could pick one up second hand as there seem to be lots for sale.

can you take 478mm? we have a 180L version of these and it's fine. the 478 includes 50mm insulation apparently

Thanks @snygappa! Sounds potentially promising, but it'll be a very tight squeeze! Let me measure again and see if there is any way it could work.

Thanks for the offers. I found an economy 7 tank in Ebay which seems just the right size (only 300mm wide) and unused.
