Can anyone recommend a 25m garden hose? The ones we've had previously always tend to kink or the fittings leak.

    Thanks

Hozelock make a range of different grades of hose, some better and more expensive than others. I think the yellow/grey striped hose is better than the green/yellow. Go compare them at big garden centre.

Edit: They have one they claim to be anti kink which is mostly grey with thinner yellow stripe.

We have a 20x2 mm PEX hose reel that is over 25 yrs old and still going strong despite prolonged exposure to sunlight...

RHS Everflow. I use a 50m and its impossible to stop the flow from a kink if you try!

I would go for tricoflex - you will see it used in most garden centres and nursery's (its always bright yellow). It doesn't kink (unless you constantly twist it one way like some people do with telephone cables) and lasts ages - we have had ours 17 years at least and its still going strong.

Although not the best hose, seems a good buy with the reel and fittings etc.

Or do we think it's a buy cheap buy twice affair?

If you need a reel go for a wall mounted one with a roller hose guide nearby. To operate a reel like the one pictured usually needs to have a foot placed on one of the metal bars - just about doable when reeling in if you play twister regularly - but impossible when pulling the hose out.

For hose guns I go onto ebay and buy several at a time (once I got them at £1 each inc postage) and each time my wife leaves one connected in the frost I moan and replace it (the same thing happens when I leave it connected but no one moans when that happens).
