I am about to fit my 50mm insulation in the walls of my extension. I am doing the work myself and so have plenty of time. When i did my loft conversion i used silicon on most of the joints and next to the rafters.

Do you think it is a good idea to do the same in the walls ? What about using the special tapes you can buy for these insulation sheets ?
If you can get a good tight joint then tape should suffice.

Ok good. I assume a builder will not tape these joints.

I've been using low expansion foam, gun applied, to do the same thing. Worked very well.
