    "Continuing natural gas emissions at present levels will add 0.6C to global warming ... Europe must phase out all fossil fuels including gas by 2035"

    "Methane is a powerful greenhouse gas, about 30 times more potent than carbon dioxide over a shorter one decade time frame, that may still push global warming past “tipping points” beyond which it becomes irreversible.

    It exists naturally in water-borne micro-organisms, agriculture and methane hydrates – some already thawing as the climate warms – and is produced in bulk by measured gas emissions, and non-measured leaks."

    Similar gas industry lobbyists have also been at work in the Bio-methane industry; peddling anaerobic digesters, (industrial farm type, not waste management type) as an alternative to natural gas. I've been saying for some time now, "it isn't", we just add to the natural methane emissions.
    Quite apart from the energy required to produce feedstock crops, plus the embodied energy in the plant itself, its agricultural monoculture, and other emissions impact is bad. The chances of methane leakage and/or accidents are too great .
    Yet what does the government do, - it offers subsidies and incentives to build more, crazy.:sad:
