Am part way through a 6m x 4m workshop build, with foundations, floor and stud framing done. Next phase is external cladding then metal sheet roof.

I need to get this finished asap in time for a house build starting in a few weeks, so corners need cut. The untreated weatherboard is due to arrive on Friday, and my treatment of choice is Bedec Barn Paint. It needs applied in temps of 10degC or higher, so I'm thinking just to crack on with the cladding and treat it when the weather improves in a few weeks (don't laugh). I was initially too cautious to do this but I've seen one UK log cabin manufacturer very honestly say that it isn't a major issue if external timber is untreated for a short period. Any thoughts?

Don’t use uncercloaks and it will be ok for ever.

It'll be good for at least 1 winter untreated. And in the end its only a small shed.
