The other half has seen a concrete sink for £X,000... I'm hoping I can make one. I have a recipe for the mix, but was wondering about the best way to seal it. Any ideas? The one she wants looks quite smooth. Acrylic?

    Definitely resin

    Thanks Tony! Any particular resin?

Polyester (as per GRP) would probably work, and of course you can colour it as for any gel-coat, or for even more 'bomb-proof-osity', perhaps 2-part epoxy. I wonder how you'll get it smooth without runs. Where's Steamy Tea when you want him?

Nick Parsons queried: "I wonder how you'll get it smooth without runs."

Mould it against a male plug. But if you're going to use epoxy, why bother with the concrete?

I've cut a male foam mould by CNC that I was going to paint with acrylic paint. Then I was going to sand any imperfections with a diamond pad.

@djh, that rubber mould looks great, but a lot of work!
