    Hi all,

    I'd really appreciate some IWI install thoughts and/or advice as I need to make a final decision, the basics are...

    1) EWI is out due to planning

    2) 1970's - 75mm (now) full filled cavity wall with Platinum Eco Bead, brick outer & 100mm aircrete block inner face.

    3) Inner face of aircrete blocks will have 6mm parge coat of Gyproc Sound Coat Plus.

    4) Min/max IWI depth is around 30-40mm to get me to < 0.30 U-value for renovation building regs.

    5) Entire house is back to shell - slab-to-roof, so the intention is to insulate and tape seal continuously from ground floor slab, around floor joists (that penetrate cavity wall) up to roof joists.

    6) At the moment I'm looking at 40mm Kingspan TW55 PIR boards, followed up by something like Tescon Vana taped joints, corners and ceiling junctions.

    7) Kingspan has confirmed negative dew point/condensation risk.

    8) Finished design requires shadow gaps on floor/ceilings so integrated PB/Insulation is out (as well as price).

    9) Ground floor has 1m high waterproof coating preventing mechanical fixings.

    My queries are really around fixing & service void/battens:

    1) How to bond/mechanically fix PIR boards to parge/aircrete inner leaf, especially over a waterproof membrane?

    2) Is it worth battening over the boards to mechanically fix the panels & create a service void or just double dot/dab PB?

    3) If We go with the batten route has anyone any experience of these: https://thorhelical.com/insulation-fixings/fixing-insulation-to-walls/ or something similar for fast easy batten fixings?

    4) For simplicity, would you just run the battens floor-to-roof past the floor joists?

    5) What batten depth would people suggest (25mm?) and is it worth trying to fill that void with more insulation?

    6) Is it worth considering a 25mm base board, battened, then a further 25mm between the battens?

    7) Is there a better way?
