Had to throw out our ageing salad spinner the other day as it was not functioning properly. I decide to take it apart to see what was wrong with it and was horrified to see inside the workings a fine film of plastic "dust" coating the workings, Whilst the salad washing parts got regularly cleaned the gearing etc don't so I hate to think how much plastic we may have ingested during the fairly long lifetime of this gadget and the ones that have gone before.
