If the battle to control greenhouse gas emissions shows some signs of eventually being won (or at least awareness and acceptance of the necessity), maybe the environmental focus will move to the numerous other kinds of pollutants with which we've carelessly infested the biosphere. GHGs/Co2e is just the tip of the iceberg that's accumulating ever faster to degrade all life on earth.

Just one of those pollutants is the chemical category - there are others.

Typical of the challenge to capture and make harmless the countless different chemicals that are extremely dilutely dispersed in the biosphere, is discussed here
    https://theconversation.com/most-people-carry-remnants-of-a-chemical-pollutant-ultrasound-technology-can-help-clean-it-up-140607 .
The challenge is not impossible, but one thing for sure; it will become a major new demand for lots of energy, which of course above all can't be fossil-originated but must come from renewable technologies - which themselves embody pollutants of all kinds, which no one mentions.
