Ta. Will try them in the New Year. They can't automatically quote for delivery to my location so it'll be worth chatting with them about batch sizes.

For painting galvanised steel t wash is what the metal fabricators use. I had some galvanised veranda posts manufactured for me and the fabricators used t wash before delivering to me for painting.

Looks like what's needed. Also their EM121 EPOXY RUST PROOFING PAINT - BLACK should be a good durable finish.

Thanks for that suggestion, David & Jeff  I will definitely bookmark it in case I need anything painted for sure in the future. I was convinced in particular by this bit:

"The RNLI have long been a customer of Rustbuster using our Rustbuster EM121 Epoxy
coating on their sea tractors chassis, engines and equipment for over twenty years."

I'll leave it as an exercise to find that particular quote.

Just happened across this today - not sure if it is helpful but looks interesting and might be worth checking out.

Do specialised paints for environmentally challenging situations such as ships wind turbines oil rigs it what my metal fabricator uses on their projects.

I know dark-coloured roofs are traditional but supposedly light-coloured ones are better for the planet. Just saying.

    Tell that to the planners

Not always easy, but it can be done. Image of part of my new roof attached in light grey.
