wanting to add an EV charger point to a house, - we have air source and 3kWp of PV's
Not got an EV .... yet, but wanting to get one installed ... while EVHS exists...
    Single phase so 7kW

Obviously V2G makes massive sence, but unless you buy lease a car on a scheme (Octopus et al) and get for subsidised free,
    then price is bonkers!

"Intelligent" seems better than dumb.... but there is always the worry that if OHME or similar will go broke or stop support, - and then, without an app, does the plug work at all?

    Any thoughts/experiences or suggestions.
    Thanks
    Phil

Don't think you can get a subsidised charger unless the order has been made for the car or you already have an EV. If you want one fitted with no car or order for one you will have to pay full price. Seems difficult to get a personal lease EV unless you are a business. The business benefit in kind (BIK) is being pushed a lot by the leasing companies. and I think the money for them is in that outlet. Octopus quite a while ago were doing private leasing but not now certainly my requests fallen on deaf ears.

I got a free EV charger with my first electric car 11 years ago, when I got the second one 8 years ago I managed to get a second one free! (Plus wouldn’t fit even though same make of car) Got one for my neighbour free too.

I have a Zappi charger that works well with PV although at the moment I export all my surplus and charge at night on Octopus GO.

As has been said you can only get government grant if you have a car or a confirmed order.

Not many cars support V2G though and do you really want your batteries cycled that much.
