Small office that is echo'y, what cheap methods to reduce it?

    Room is only small 3.6m x 2.4m x 2.4m high

Some kind of picture frame with sound board or similar? Almost make it a feature?

"Stuff" absorbs sound and is excellent for eliminating echo.
    Thick carpet on the floor
Thick curtains - not necessarily pulled across - just having a pair of folded material does a lot.
Books on shelves, lever arch files, etc etc - the usual officey stuff.

If you don't care about appearance, sticking egg boxes all over the walls and ceiling will turn a room into an "anechoic chamber" :)

I'll see if I can get some kind of felt noticeboard and a few shelves etc in there.

    Thanks

Knock up a frame, fill it with rockwool and cover it with fabric, coloured if you like. Stick it on the wall. AKA an acoustic panel
