Here's a curious story - anyone heard of it before?
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/feb/03/brad-pitt-post-katrina-housing-project-went-horribly-wrong

Sounds like a typical timber frame/insulation/VCL scandal - but with the added spice of New Orleans levels of humidity etc that we can only dream of, luckily.

"Glass-infused wood" - sounds like an inexpert journo's paraphrase - but that's what it was called

The Architect is one of those being sued, for specifying this new fangled stuff, which apparently fell apart almost immediately. Scary! There's plenty such wonder-products being promoted to us here.

tho in this case this white middle class ideal was being extended to a less advantaged constituency.

I certainly hadn't heard of it. It sounds like a real mess. The best story I've found is https://www.architecturaldigest.com/story/brad-pitt-make-it-right-foundation-new-orleans-katrina-lawsuit and there's https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2019-02-15/when-brad-pitt-tried-to-save-new-orleans-s-lower-ninth-ward
There's also some broader background at https://www.nola.com/news/katrina/article_a192c350-ea0e-11ea-a863-2bc584f57987.html and https://www.npr.org/2015/08/03/427844717/ghosts-of-katrina-still-haunt-new-orleans-shattered-lower-ninth-ward

    And then there's https://lowernine.org/

There's lots of people who appear to have made bad calls (e.g. Brad Pitt and a lot of the celebrity architects), some who have been positively evil and some who have tried to be good. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

There seem to be a lot of things happen behind closed doors; the whole mess might get sorted a lot faster if everything is dragged out into the open, so I wish the legal case well.

I worry about icf and sips but that was so fast and such horrid problems.
