I am finally getting close to fitting my mvhr unit.
It has this cryptic diagram on top
I presume it shows flow direction but apart from not knowing which is external and which internal, it does not seem to agree with the picture in the install guide.
    Can anyone enlighten me?
    Thanks very much!!
Ha ha I hate that diagram
It had me checking and rechecking so many times!

The top left is extract from the house; top right is exhaust into the outside air; bottom left is supply to the house; and bottom right is intake from the air. (all are just my belief, and somebody may correct me.) I suppose the R+ is something to do with the handing.

It might help if you told us exactly what model of MVHR you have. Also see p4 of what I presume are the installation instructions for an explanation of the symbols.

edit: turn it on and see which holes blow and which suck if you're confused.
Top left is extract from rooms to unit
Bottom left is supply from unit to rooms
Top right is exhaust from unit to outside air
Bottom right is supply from outside air to unit

Don’t know what the R+ stands for - is it reversed sides? E.g left to right (I seem to recall there was some sort of option)
    Cross posted with DJH
at least we have the same understanding

    Thanks very much.

It is a Vent Axia Sentinel Kinetic Plus B.
They also sent instructions on swapping the control panel to the other side.
The installation guide that came with it seems to show it configured differently which is what I have been working on :(

Glad it wasn’t just me , the amount of head scratching i did piping the thing up must have been twice as long as any actual work. The second one should be a doddle in comparison.

Don't forget the condensation drain, with a dry trap in it!

So this is a photo from the manual which shows a different configuration (unless I have really lost it!).
This what I built my pipework to do now I am in a real pickle as there is no space to cross the pipes over and connect to the unit.

Dur, the two diagrams represent the Sentinel Kinetic and Sentinel Kinetic PLUS, I went cross eyed with the manual and in the end went through the whole thing striking out ,with a pencil then after checking again a marker, anything that referred to a variant other the kinetic plus that i have.
Even then (thanks Djh) i’ve fitted a standard trap to the condensate drain, replacement now ordered.

    Thanks Artiglii
Sorry. I did realise that; I should have mentioned.
Ours is a plus B so the one on the right (which as shown is configured as the right hand version). For my situation I need to switch the control unit side to make the left hand version which in the manual puts the supply to the dwelling in the back right corner.
The (horrible) diagram on the top of the unit as per my first post would put the supply to dwelling in the front right.

The right hand drawing from the manual appears to match the sticker on the top of the unit AFAICT. You seem to be talking about another drawing in the manual that you haven't yet shown us.

    Thanks DJH and everyone.
You are right of course. That sticker seriously messed with my head and I just couldn't see it.
I will now go and crawl into a hole and beat myself with a length of vent pipe.
Sorry to have wasted your time all. (embarrassed emoji - if I knew how)
I must have checked 20 times doing ours and still every time I came back to it after a period of time I was anxious that I had it wrong!

I bet they paid someone a lot of money to come up with that diagram. I dare say it works for lots of people but obviously not me!

At risk of needing that embarrassed emoji for myself, I'm not sure the two diagrams actually do match.

The symbols in the first post show - supply top left; extract bottom left.

The 3D image (RHS) shows - supply bottom left; extract top left.

Now I'm getting paranoid, as I've fitted several of these over the years. Looking back at my duct drawings and the manuals, they match the 3D image, not the one in he first post snapped from the unit itself.

I'd contact VA, cause they might have altered the units (not sure why they'd bother as they've been around a long time), but not rev'd the manual.

No, that's the confusing bit isn't it?! The symbol in the bottom left is an arrow from the device (which is shown as an invisble line in place of the left wall of the building) INTO the house. i.e. it is the supply from the device into the house. i.e. exactly the same as the installation manual. Similarly the top left symbol is the extract from the house into the device.

I think we can agree that it is a really bad diagram.
Why didn't they replicate the diagram in the manual !?
