I've been playing with my Plus2PM but I can't get it to work. I power it up and can see it's website at 192.168.33.1 but I can't persuade it to connect to my wi-fi network, and it's not showing any errors, just refusing to do anything. It doesn't seem to be able to sustain a wireless connection - continuously reconnecting to the iPad right next to it etc. Their support seems to be the kind that doesn't read what you write, but I've asked them to reread it. Not impressed so far.

That's not good - I found the couple of shelly devices I got very simple to set up and they've been reliable. have you tried any 3rd party forums for tips? (rather than their official support)

I've tried the odd one but I just get one moderator contributing who seems to be convinced that all problems are caused by the router.

    Interesing...djh.

I've watched others on here recommend Shelly, but my experience (a few years ago) was very similar to yours. I gave up in the end, and chucked it in the bin.

I'm beginning to think I might end up there. It's just struck me that the heater has a metal case, so how well does the wi-fi connection work if the switch is in the heater?

that could well be whats causing a problem. Try configuring it out of the case and see what happens.

It's not in the case yet! I'm still testing it on the bench.

Is it too close? I'm sure I was reading about some wifi device set up recently and they advised some distance.

I don't think so, and neither is it too far :) It claims -54 dBm signal level.
