We've just moved into our new forever home.

This week's project is cleaning up the block paving driveway and the concrete patio to rear.

    So far I'm thinking:

    - Spray all weeds with a white vinegar, salt and soap DIY spray
    - Rake out by hand all weeds a few days later
    - Jet wash
    - Apply brick and patio cleaner (any recommendations on products?)
    - Jet wash
    - Dry and seal (any recommendations on products?)
    - Fill all gaps with kiln dried sand

Would sedum be a good idea to throw into the gaps or is that just asking for trouble? We have plenty of grass elsewhere and bushes so I'm thinking a 'clean look' with no weeds or plants may be best for these areas?

We then also have a lot of crazy paving edges and dwarf walls.. Same process as above? What to repoint with iron completion? Do you need to seal up natural stone?

You may be able to hire a powered block paving washer. They are a downward facing disk 18 -20 inch dia. with sidewalls and 4 castors. Underneath is a rotating washer arm rather like a dishwasher arm. They do, I believe, require a powerful pressure washer, but you may get them as a combo on hire.

I've got a 140 bar pressure washer anyhow and a patio attachment but need to get an adapter (Bosch to nilfisk) to use it...

It's more what chemicals to suggest I use really and if sedum will be okay in gaps...

Sedums will probably survive quite well, but may be a bit bulky looking for flagstone cracks. Depends on exactly what type of gaps. There are several small-leaved ground-cover plants that might do as well. e.g. Corsican mint. Maybe even creeping thyme.
