			<![CDATA[It's equivalent to an Exhaust Air Heatpump (EAHP) which seemed like an excellent idea but didn't catch on.<br /><br />Issues were that (for most homes, except super insulated ones like this one) the energy loss in the MHRV extract air is only part of the energy requirements of the home, as there are other fabric losses. So a heatpump running only on MHRV extract air will not recover enough heat without backup direct electric heating.<br /><br />In this case he maybe hasn't realised that the MHRV extract air carries all the damp out of the house, so is liable to ice up the heatpump.<br /><br />Seems like he has enough funding that he doesn't need to listen to others' experience though! If it doesn't work out he can afford to fix it. Sometimes that helps for trying new things out!]]>
