I put breathable wood-fibre IWI with Lime Green Solo plaster on the external stone wall of a room, and want to hang plain lining paper (no vinyl) to match the existing finish on the other internal walls. I will paint the lining paper with some breathable paint, probably Earthborn.

Lime Green say they don't recommend wallpapering their plaster but didn't explain why.

Apart from the breathability, I expect the other thing to watch is the alkalinity of the surface. Again, a traditional paste that has been used on lime walls for centuries seems like the obvious choice. Starch or methyl cellulose are apparently good choices. Earthborn is a good paint, and they sell a wallpaper paste as well.]]>
