Yet more advice sought. In our conversion we have to replace all the heating, plumbing etc. We are definately going to use underfloor heating and have seriously loooked at GSHP or a pellet boiler. I went cold on the GSHP when told we'd need 3 phase electricity to generate enough heat ( building is 280m2). Have now been told that Dimplex GSHP would be OK with single phase. We have the space for a horizontal trench; equally we have the space to store pellets...
We may want a Rayburn with back boiler (or similar) to be part of the system.
Can you give me the benefit of your experience, please - even if it's just to recommend a good company?
    Thanks

If you have the space try pellets or log, or one of the combi systems. Rather than GSHP what about air source such as the Clyde CVT about £2200 trade ex VAT you may well need two of these to do the job but if you're not useing the full 280m2 might well be worth considering. You may want to consider pellet/heat pump/thermal store technology linked to UFH as background heat, then bump it up with wood burners in the evenings.
