A candid look atsustainable landmanagement,building design and construction.
This one-day conference will explore the way we have historically used land in the UK and, if we are to live sustainably in the 21st century and beyond, how we need to radically change the way we manage our land as a valuable resource. Issues such as potential development of the greenbelt, UK food production and affordable housing will be some of the many challenging areas of discussion.
Speakers include Simon Fairlie of The Land is Ours, Sunand Prasad, RIBA President and George Ferguson of Acanthus Ferguson Mann. Case studies of successful, sustainable and imaginative regeneration projects such as the former Elizabeth Shaw Chocolate Factory in Bristol and Harvey’s Foundry in Hayle will be presented.
Paul King, Chief Executive of the UK Green Building Council leads an informative
discussion on this proposed addition to the current Code for Sustainable Homes. Delegates are encouraged to contribute to the debate with their experiences using other sustainable construction related legislation.
