I am a novice and may be doing this wrong. I am trying to install an old wood stove in my family room. Can anyone help me find the manufacturer's specifications for a Trolla 105A wood stove? They were made in Norway but have been discontinued.

 reader1981

Trolla, like Jotul, Ulefos, and Lange, were the first of the box stove manufacturers into the UK on the back of Dutech Elm disease. I believe they came from Trondheim in Norway - and had great pictures of the Billy Goats Gruff and Troll story (c/w bridge!) cast into the side panels.

Only ever installed a few. There are remnants of the first generation WB stove dealers around who might be able to help - for example SW Woodburning at Winkleigh in Devon - or I might be able to answer a question in general terms - what info were you after?

Regards

Crusoe

 Crusoe

Thanks for the response. I am in the US and am trying to get a used Trolla 105A approved by the local codes committee. They expect every stove to have a factory applied label. Mine does not. They are allowing me to present the equivalent. They want 1. Manufacturer" name and trademark; 2. Model and/or ID number of stove; 3. Types of fuels approved; 4. Testing laboratory's name or trademark and location; 5. Date tested; 6. Clearnces from combustibles: a. Above top; b. From front; c. From back; d. From sides; 7. Floor protection; 8. National test standards; 9. Label serial number.

This is a lot. My hope is that someone has a manual or spec sheet, or can supply me with a standard, universal sheet which will pass the inspectors.

Thanks for your interest.

Reader1981

Gosh, that's pretty steep reqs for a stove that was being used long before much of that data had been thought of! My only advice would be to get a stove that is as near identical as your own and that DOES have the approvals they need - and show them the data of that stove.

And demonstrate the impossibility of their requests by pointing out the above. One would have thought that older models, if sound, could be 'grandfathered' in.

Best wishes

Crusoe
