9:00 1 amp
9:15 5 amps - hairdryer switched on
9:20 6 amps - light switched on
9:25 2 amps - hairdryer switched off
9:30 1 amp - light switched off

so, from that you can tell that you have three loads:
1 amp total standby for the house
4 amps for one appliance - hairdryer in this case, but it won't know that
1 amp for another appliance - light in this case.

It could probably guess what things are from the power they use and the length of time they are used for - eg. vacuuming takes longer than hairdrying - well it does in my case.

Very clever all the same.
