I don't ever actually turn ours "off", it's just set so that it'll tail off to nothing as demand falls. I've got a thin-blooded wife and small kids in the house, so if we get an unseasonable cold snap I want that heating to fire up.
  1.
Off here Sun, Mon, Tues, Weds last week. Back on now - but the outdoor 24hr average is back down to 2-3C again. Wind chill temp was showing -7C at 7am yesterday...
  2.
I let the thermostat decide - at the moment, it's still set to "heat", but we had 27C weather just over a week ago (even had a day with some net cooling-degree-days - unprecedented for March - 24 hour average temperature of 20.1C). Then it snowed the next week. Will probably turn it properly off sometime in May, and then set it to cooling in June. Sometimes wish I had an auto-switchover thermostat so I could just set the temperature and forget it and let the machine decide whether heating or cooling is needed.

Tempted to turn my back on, maybe tomorrow, meant to be getting warmer for the weekend, nice seeing 'summer' levels of electricity use on the monitor. House was 16°C when I got in and Car thermometer was showing 7°C

Never got above 4C here all day yesterday and the wind would cut you in half, and we're protected by trees all around.

OK I confess! Stove lit. (Sheffield). The IR thermometer says it's 16 deg in the next room (and not much heat gets from one to the other in this draughty pile) but it feels *much* colder than that on this wet, 'orrible day. Oh, and happy but moist anniversary, ma'am. At least your boat won't run aground.

12.8C outside temp here (South Shropshire). Good news is that some of my lecturing/hectoring has got through. The wife just said, as she walked towards the bedroom, "Cold enough for a jumper!" In days gone by she would have turned the central heating back on.

OK, make me feel guilty. I have a sniffle or two, but I refuse to use Poo's honey! (If that means nothing, you have to find te tread re Shteamy's schniffles!)

And I already have 2 pullovers on....
  5.
internal temperature down to 19.5C from 23.5C a week ago or so, so lit the stove for some extra comfort in this weather.
  6.
Apart from during over-enthusiastic stove-stoking, we haang out the flags when internal temp exceeds 19.5!!

Need to boast; still 22.4C downstairs and a trifle above upstairs. The thermal mass in the floor, lots of south facing glass and a thermal store still at 50C seems to be working.
  7.
    Hi,
Me too. Stove lit today. Outside temp struggling to get beyond 9 deg. Summer up here is like Bournmouth in November.

22°C inside, says 13°C outside, drizzle, but wind has dropped, feels nicer now.
Not had heating on for months, but was a bit stubborn about it.

Heating off since end of March, and today shut all windows and put MHRV back on to keep the house warm (~20C inside now) through this damp/cold spell (11C outside)...

Up in the Staffordshire Moorlands I dont think ive seen "blue sky" since that week of it in May. My PV generation figures were 498kWhrs in May and only 317 in June....?!?!?!

Truly Aweful Summer weather - and whilst ive managed to keep the heating off "most of the time" weve had to have a boost occassionaly as some days/nights have been so wet windy and cold... my pond has refilled itself the 3 inches that needed topping up back in May.... so thats a positive!

Still fairly warm down here in Kent (under 3 degree days at 15.5º last week). Haven't needed any heat for a few weeks now, even in my old place. Sounds like we've got it easy!

Winning in my fight to keep avg internal temp below 28 deg. Have covered up 2 of my 5 FPs to keep temp in transfer fluid below 100 (mostly). Have to visit sick Mum in Norfolk tomorrow and have dug up winter clothes put upstairs for summer - Ryan Air means we are travelling without hold luggage so will have to wear long trousers to airport. UK going to be a shock!!!! Good news is BIG extractor in roof is working well, drawing in 'cool' (22 deg) air across hot sweaty bodies in bed and at around 12 ACH cooling the house a little too. In winter it is as cold here (mid-Italy 500m) as UK so waiting for big wood delivery...

    How did ST put it:

"You all live in the wrong place" - couldn't agree more xx
