Ok, this is still at visualisation stage but, I am looking for people who might be interested in getting together to acquire a plot of land for a low or no carbon self build project, perhaps four to six dwellings.
I'm envisaging doing this in the South of England or possibly Normandy. The rules would be, everyone must commit, legally, until the final house is finished. Other details, for example which type of L C housing, how it will be funded, who does what, what the investment comprises (cash, mortgages) would be worked out by the final group.
Maybe lots of people here have experience of this kind of project etc, I don't, this is completely new to me but I am willing to support the gathering of candidates for such a project until the final group comes together.
I am interested in this idea. My background is in engineering and my education to BSc level is in Renewable Technologies and another Environmental Management. Pretty good with a paint brush as well. I currently lecture a group of Renewable Energy students down here in Cornwall. May not be able to contribute financially at this stage but more than willing to have technical ideas run past me, there are a lot of myths and even more wishful thinking that can ruin a plan.
I am also intersted and i am in the business of supplying discounted PIR insulation boards from one of the largest manufactures in the UK John 07963695226
