			<![CDATA[I think you are refering to 'stand-alone' Damon, but that is for panels that are not linked (electrically) to a building supply but, such as a solar farm, link directly to the grid.<br /><br />Ground-mounted in the garden/grounds of a house would be retrofit unless they were installed at the same time as the house was actually being built.]]>

			<![CDATA[We've just put 3.92kw of Sharp panels on a ground mounted frame, 80m from the house, connected to the grid through the house system, it's designated "Non-standalone" and we are registered for, and will shortly be in receipt of, the higher rate domestic tariff.  It needed full planning permission but this was received without any fuss through the online planning portal.  Installation cost was reduced by being on the ground, but this was mostly offset by the additional cost of the long connection cable.]]>
