Have a situation with an old customer's loft space for which I was thinking of devising a home-grown solution similar to the Dolle-Profi-Plus-Attic-Hatch in the link above. Will have a firtle and come back once I've got our windows done and the workshop cleared. Started the drawings this afternoon between paint coats and will try out with some spare friction hinges (which close in a particular way that might be useful in this situation) on a prototype.
