Has anybody tried running ASHP's thru the Part L SAP software? Air to water and you seem to be well on the way to Code for Sustainable Homes level 3, air to air and level 4 doesn't look that daunting. All that's needed now is to persuade planners that they are a renewable technology and move over biomass. Can this be right, they are after all powered by good old inefficient electricity?

I can almost handle that, have heard that in the next set of changes to SAP in 2010 electricity will be treated on a par with gas so their advantage may be short lived, the issue is whether planners consider them as renewable, it appears most don't even though they accept GSHP
