    the problem with TRVs is that you have to run the heat source too hot to make them work, a waste of energy if ever there was...

    Mich more sophisticatec is to run the heating at the right temperature...

    Thanks for all the helpful comments - I shall follow up the various suggestions.. When I've got a bit further with the design, I will probably start a thread on TRVs.
