Hello. Long time no visit.

I'll be flushing and re-filling my solar thermal soon and will want a way to dispose of about 20Litres of old glycol solution.

What's the best idea? I don't like the concept of the drain, but I have no idea what to do with it.

Perhaps the G&T is the better idea :)

Propylene glycol is used as an artificial sweetener isn't it?

Take it to your local garage and see if they'll take it as old antifreeze (or ask what they do with it?). Otherwise, put it in a paint bucket, and take it to your local waste disposal site, and dispose of as paint maybe?

I've lived on this planet for nearly 56 years without anybody feeling the necessity to mention to me anything about cats and antifreeze. Today I came across two references to the subject. The other:

(Though the second one's confusing propylene and ethylene glycols - unless they used propylene glycol in cars 60+ years ago.)

Well as an ex-cat owner, but nowadays someone who understands all too well the misery of the dug-up salad seedlings, perhaps I'll refrain from comment on the cat front. I like the garage idea. Thanks.
