Is anyone aware of problems combining PIR and Mineral Wool Insulation?
I'm working with a raised collar roof and want to use PIR for the sloped ceiling areas and mineral wool over the flat ceiling area, so you would have both in the same section of roof, abutting each other.
No issues. Just get the junction really tight. A typical detail for me is:
75mm rafters, and non-breathable sarking, therefore 50mm air gap. Bare minimum B Regs compliance requires 125mm of Pu, so 25 between and 100 under. Assuming the exg ceiling is to remain, and that you don't cut away the full 125mm, I usually oversail the 25mm right into the apex, and down at the stud walls.
