I've been trawling the internet and our technical library for anything showing a typical junction between 'Wimpey No-fines' type construction external walls with intermediate floor, specifically how they connect.

I can find some written information, I can't find anything showing how the intermediate floors connect with the external walls.

Greatly appreciate if anyone has any input!

    Best regards,

    Sigaldry

I already had read that one thanks before posting.

I managed to get hold of copies of BR160 and BR153 though and they covered what I needed.

Common detail seems from those to be fixings cast in with first floor of traditional timber construction on a notched wall plate.

"Floor joists supported by 8in x 3in rebated wall trimmer on mild steel brackets embedded in no-fines walls"

Although also some reinforced concrete and some steel floors apparently.

I got what I needed from those for thermal modelling purposes. (BR153 was the more useful of the two).

    Many thanks anyway.

Check out BRE document BR 156 (1989) Cast Rendered No Fines Houses. It shows joists sat in a channel shaped breeze block (presumably to spread the load).
