The rugby season that is, I can smell it. The damp turf/quagmire, the blood, sweat and beers. Kicking off at a Twickenham venue near you this weekend.

For the record, the grass at Twickenham is green, London Irish and Harlequins have green in their jerseys - and often between their teeth - and those who can't get there will be green too! Does this qualify as a green event then?
  1.
For the record, the grass in Wales is greener...(and the rugby is better):rolling:

Yeah, yeah, that's what the New Zealanders say too....

    Mike George- 100% correct.
When the Millenium stadium was being built they grew some turf at the RAF St Athan RAF camp for the pitch pallets. The non Welsh lads used to pee on the turf.........
    Luckily it was not used.

Oooo, still coming down, it was lovely...and there was even a token Welshman there too. Couldn't be accused of a slight bias there gusty, could you??

Your correspondent arrived early and drank in the scene. Kick-off and Wasps took the early lead with a number of tries and it looked like Quins' reign as champs was already under threat, even this early in the season.

However, it was to be a tale of two halves and the gutsy Quins came back strongly to just behind Wasps, at 30-29 with just under 3 minutes to go. A penalty in Wasps 22 gave ex All-Blacks' fly-half Nick Evans (understudy to Dan Carter at one point, so not many games for him over there) a pop at goal, which he successfully slotted for the three points, Quins finishing 32-30.

Amaaaazing my lovelies, roll on the Six Nations.
