A new light fitting uses five G9 halogen capsule bulbs. Anyone recommend a good brand of LED replacements?

Am looking for 300lm+, warm white, sensible lifetime, <£2 each, not too bothered about CRI or dimming.

    Thanks!

When I bought my GU10s, I bought one of every brand I could find and compared them. Crompton seemed to be the best so I bought 50. None have failed so far, after five years and we've been very happy with the light quality. So I'd recommend you at least include Crompton lamps in your trial

Looking at https://www.cromptonlamps.com/Catalogue/LED/Capsule/G9/LED-G9-Capsule-25W-2700K-3415 though, you're going to be whistling for your 300 lm though the presumably more expensive https://www.cromptonlamps.com/Catalogue/LED/Capsule/G9/LED-G9-Capsule-Sunset-Dim-Dimmable-3W-2800K-G9-9974 seems to meet it. No idea about price of either. edit: though a very quick google shows you'll have to dig deeper in your pocket.

Previously bought ten lamps for £8.99 from eBay but that vendor has since disappeared.

Has anyone tried this brand? https://amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07KWWXFBQ
WOWLED G9 LED Bulbs, No Flicker, 5W Equivalent to 40W Halogen Bulbs, Warm White 3000K , Non-Dimmable 390lm
    £7.29 for a pack of 5

I rarely get passionate about light bulbs, but these Philips G9 bulbs give the most beautiful light, though not as cheap as you're after (~£4):

I have to say I didn't include Philips in my tests. They make all colour temperatures but only sell 2700 K in the UK, which I didn't want. If you go to their site and choose consumer lights rather than professional, you aren't even offered their 2700 K product. So I don't like their attitude; YMMV.

My experience is that Chinese bulbs are always a lottery in terms of quality and life.

Phillips LEDs have been excellent in every case. There might be little benefit in their GU10 replacements vs other brands but for the various capsule bulbs, and for ES or BC bulbs where a fitting leaves the bulb exposed they are way better than alternatives that I've tried. I fitted some 'decorative' dimmable candle bulbs at my mothers house after a load of screw fix linear LED bulbs failed in, I think, little over a year.

    Thanks all, for the pointers!

The Philips lamps get a lot of good reviews, hopefully they'll drop to a more competitive price as time goes by.

I tried the "WOWLED" brand linked above - pleased so far - plenty of light and nice colour, nicely packaged and sent from UK stock. They are claiming CRI>80, 3000K, 390lm for 5W and £1.40/each. Time will tell how they last!

I like 3000K but hate things that cause air leakage, can’t cope with recessed down lighters
