Long shot but does anyone have an unused Optiplug they would consider selling?

You don't seem to be able to get them for love nor money!

I don't I'm afraid but I'm happy with my tp-link hs110 Kasa Smart Plug for monitoring and switching power and that is still available.

dgh, how do you automatically link that to something that knows if you're exporting?

The short answer is I don't. But I could. I control it using a script run by a cron job because I just want timed activation. And use a similar script to read the energy data from it. It would be simple enough to control the script from some measurement that determined if I was exporting. I just use basic scripts and stuff (shell, python or perl) but others use things like NodeRed or IFTTT etc.

Thanks - It's one of those things that just grows into a home automation project with various other electronic gubbins which is why I chose the optiplugs (they just work in minutes with the Whatson PV energy monitor). I might have to bite the bullet at some point but I've got enough projects at the moment without learning to code.
