This is a shame. Their model seemed good - rather than having your own small/inefficient local generation, invest in a share of a wind/solar facility owned by a coop and get a credit against your utility bill.

Existing coops look like they'll be fine but the one that they were currently raising money for (which I'd bought into) is in limbo. They'd not agreed the site purchase (it was bought by someone else) and the funds people had paid to join (which surely should have been in a ring fenced account) remain unaccounted for (no information to the people who'd applied, no information to the coop board).

A small (and stated) amount of the 'purchase' was to cover Ripple expenses of setting up the scheme and managing the build, but the majority was for a share of ownership of the wind farm. That should have been returned when the purchase fell through.

Old news now, I suppose. I've now heard from all the co-ops I've invested in and I'm reasonably comfortable waiting to see what happens. I notice that the generation data from the Ripple API has stopped coming after the 5th May; I don't know if there's any other way to get that data?

The IT assets of Ripple were bought out by an outfit called "1st Energy" who are seeking to present themselves as a successor to Ripple in providing management/admin for the various co-ops.

However they seem to be getting an arms length response, the coops are either looking elsewhere for that support or are trying to do it in house. So seems unlikely that the Ripple API will continue.

Simon, have you seen this webpage?

Suggests that Whitelaw Brae investors should register their claim with the Administrator, but try to get their money back from their credit card.
