Times headline story I caught sight of yesterday was something about Miliband/vast new domestic energy grants, to meet net zero target. Today, apart from paying Times to read it, I can find no mention anywhere else - not Guardian, just a Dale Vince short video. What's it about? I've stopped following the news, but I thought govt had de-prioritised environment vs defence spending?

My understanding is that it’s another billion and a bit added to the previous schemes, but then the total spun in such a way so that a casual glance would sugges to people it was 15 billionish of new spending. Won’t be a surprise to find that the reality is just an extension of the various eco schemes paid for out of energy bill increases.

Easy to be generous with other peoples money.
