General: aluminium roofing nails

    Has anyone got any views on using aluminium nails for a slate roof. My roofer says they are better that copper as they `give ` a bit and have bigger heads.
    My own experience of aluminium on bikes is that it can go brittle with age.

    Pretty common, London used to insist on Copper , Ali nails are OK in my opinion, will last longer than the slates
