    Dear all,

Can anyone let me know the usual method of linking an evacuated tube solar system to heat my small pool? Will I need a big HW store or will a heat exchanger suffice? Also, presumably there will be controls available for a system like this.

    Kind regards,

    Stuart:bigsmile:

I am not an expert on pools but i had a conversation with a nameless (& tipsy) evacuated tube sales man a month ago who said that lower technology Suncell type panels were more economic for pools. so they may be worth a look. From memory no store or heat exchanger is required you just take the water streight of the filter. Rember to drain down in the winter.

Any type of solar panel or even a black hose running through clear plastic drinks bottles would work.

The ideal application for solar thermal is a large volume (swimming pool) of water heated a bit.

Have you considered painting the bottom and south facing sections of the pool black with a suitable material?
  1.
    Stainless heat exchanger is best
