Just in case anyone out there hasn't read the consultation proposals from DECC.........25% less FIT on turbines 1.5kw to 15kw from Oct 2012.ie 21p rather than 28.1p.....thats going to add another 1 or 2 years on payback models. Spend £50k and wait 7 or 8 years before you start earning............ummmm..........not sure about that !!

More to the point Steamy have the manufacturers been keeping prices artificially high in order to try and maintain the FIT figures and consequently will we now see a price fall in install costs to reflect the new tariff.....we'll see !

When I first started looking at a Gaia (11kW) they were about £25K, then feed in tariffs were announced and the price became (very quickly) £50K. In the USA the Gaia's price didn't change much over that same time, was about 50K US dollars. Make your own minds up.

Prices have gone up by 50% in the last 2 years then.
Perhaps that's something to do with reduced competition!
