I only managed to get a 10 tube panel up on the SE wall in mid May 2011 so I haven't had many measurements. I was going to get more on the roof but because I vacillated for so long, having done my research in Jan 2007 and finished the build and renovations 20 months later, the government had by then introduced FITTs and I filled the roof with PV.

The ground at 2.5M under my extension in May was around 15C. The pump has run for 637 hours. The temp above the store at 1m rose to 26C early October but is now down to 20C. The 60M2 extension has remained warm, above 18C throughout this period. Over the last week the temp downstairs has slowly declined to 16C so this morning I switched on the CH for an hour. These are observations and this has been a mild Autumn, today has been the first time that I've switched on the CH, so I'm not drawing conclusions, I'll wait until 3 years down the line. Running costs have been low as I'm using a Grundfos Alpha 2L which is operating at 5-8W.

Apologies, I did say 4 years ago that I'd detail what I'd done on the web and I still haven't gotten around to doing that. Hopefully I'll do something before the end of the year.

Five years ago I indicated that I was about to build an earth-sheltered PAHS house. The has been completed for about 18 months. It relies on solar heat (many south-facing windows), a masonry stove, and PAHS. These past ten days with outdoor temperatures varying between10-30°F, the indoor temperature has been maintained between 71-73°F, with an occasional foray to 76°F when the sun shines brightly all day. Earlier, the thermal mass had not been equilibrated, because the PAHS was just hooked up a few weeks ago. Now the thermal mass is approaching the desired 72°F, so the indoor temperature is stabilizing. http://house-in-the-hill.blogspot.com/

Roger, what is the latitude and longitude of your place as I suspect it is well south of us, even me in Cornwall (50N 5W, 200m ASL).

He's at about 40.5°N, 89.5°W so some 10° south of anywhere much in the UK. About the same latitude as Madrid.
